Due to a recent Oregon Court of Appeals ruling that effectively ended recreational immunity for public and private landowners, all PCJWSA owned or managed paths, walkways, stairs, and any other improved or unimproved access ways to recreation areas are closed until further notice. This includes the trail system on the Bureau of Land Management property that PCJWSA currently manages as part of their Recreation and Public Purposes Lease. Use of these areas is not permitted, and anyone using these areas does so at their own risk. The League of Oregon Cities and the Association of Oregon Counties intend to bring a bill to the Legislature in 2024 to restore recreational immunity, so we anticipate that these Trails will be open to the public again soon.
